MSS Trust (Madipakkam Social Service Trust) was founded in the year 2017. From a mere 5 member team, today it has 60+ volunteers ranging from school kids to Retired people from various walks of life.
MSS Trust was formed keeping the motto of Greener & Cleaner Madipakkam from Feb 2017 till date.
Till date, below activities are being performed by the Trust.
- Planted, maintained and have grown more than 6000 trees covering 5 water bodies & 50 residential nagars in and around Madipakkam, Puzhuthivakkam, Kovilambakkam, Ullagaram, Moovarasampet, Kilkattalai and parts of Velachery and Pallikaranai.
- Desilted 2 big water bodies joining hands along with other NGOs.
- Campaigned against use of plastics and offered cloth bags to the local residents.
- Conducting Pongal Festival celebration every year for the past 6 years in Madipakkam.
- Performed a Walkathon in order to create an awareness about environment protection and nature conservation.
- Visit schools and address the students along with giving the AV presentation (AV prepared by MSS Trust) emphasizing the importance about saving and protecting the nature and Environment from our side.
- Perform உழவாரப்பணி (temple service) in temples nearby Madipakkam and Velachery.
- Conducted bike rally every year on account of independence day for past 6 years covering various resident welfare associations and have hoisted our national flag in and around the areas of Madipakkam, Puzhuthivakkam and kovilambakkam.
We have been doing this tree plantation and maintenance activities every weekend for the past 6.5 years and we are about to approach 300th week shortly.
